Request the Flock records

Apex police run a Flock license plate reader network that shares your movement data with roughly a thousand outside agencies. You have the right to see the records behind it. This builds a formal public records request in two minutes.

Requests are made under the North Carolina Public Records Law (N.C. Gen. Stat. Chapter 132). You do not have to say why you want the records. It goes to the Town Clerk with Apex PD Records copied, so one request reaches both the Town and the Police Department. Official channel: apexnc.org/1330/Request.

Why the sharing list matters

The Town publishes monthly totals (994 to 1,070 partner agencies) but not the names. The itemized list is the one record that shows exactly who can pull your plate. It is the first item in this request.
